I am your local Gas Safe plumber working in Hastings and the surrounding areas.
Please make sure that you ask to see your plumber’s gas safety card before starting a job. Sadly some plumbers will let this accreditation slip by not completing a refresher course to renew their registration. The gas safety certificate has to be renewed every 5 years by attending a course in order that gas engineers are kept up to date with advances technology and the changes in legislation. It is illegal for a gas engineer to carry out any gas work without a valid certificate and there are different certificates for different gas appliances, just as there are for a driving licence which allows us to drive a car but not a bus unless we have passed that module!
Because a plumber has a gas safe card which allows him to install a gas boiler, he may not be qualified to work on gas fires, so do make sure that he is covered for the appliance that you want attended to. A landlord looking for a landlords gas safety certificate (CP12) may have a gas boiler, gas fire and a gas hob, all of which requires the plumber to have a current certificate to work on these different appliances.
I only carry out gas work on domestic appliances and can install any gas pipework that you require in your house
